My sentiments, being a widower, run more toward the poignant as I age noting the tragic inevitability of the film's denouement. Not so much. I loved the lush color, in fact never tired of re-watching this because of it. Great color always moves me (i.e. Michael Curtiz’s <i>The Adventures of Robin Hood</i>), even if the film has other problems (<i>Pleasantville</i>). And I loved the posh settings.
